yesterday's news

Dear Lindsay,

Yesterday I did something I don't think I've ever done before.

I spent some time thinking about you.

Last night, my family and I were on a walk. We had just finished visiting the chickens and were on our way to play at the playground when I looked at Mount Timpanogos. I thought of you and wondered what was going on behind that mountain.

Earlier in the day, I was online and saw two stories involving Utah. The first was about the trapped miners. This made me rather sad. Last time something like this happened, I had stayed awake really late one night watching the news and finally went to bed when the news said things were okay. I woke up the next morning to find that it wasn't true. Yuck. My sister called me yesterday to find out if I felt the earthquake; I told her no; and later learned that there was no earthquake, but that the mine's collapse itself registered on the richter scale.

I misspoke: that mine story was the second story involving Utah. The first was yours. You were the top story, over the mine. How do you feel about that?

I'll tell you the conclusion I came to last night, when I spent a few minutes of my life in thoughts thrown your way: I hope things work out for you. Should I be embarrassed that I think Mean Girls is one of the best movies I've ever seen? I honestly think you're a talented actress. To be fair, I've only seen three movies with you, that I can think of: Mean Girls, of course, The New Parent Trap (which had too many OMGs for my liking), and Freaky Friday (also too many OMGs). Still, you were very good in those movies. (Were you in that Herbie movie? Or was it just your chest? I never saw that one.)

Seriously, girl: slow it down.

Fondly,
j5t

I"m with you j5t. I wish her well, and I wish I didn't think about it. But it is hard nor too when People magazine somehow keeps finding its way into my house. (who buys those things anyway?)

I am praying for the miners. I am dissapointed in what the Mayor of the town said. "Past experience tells us these things don't go very well,". Way to keep a positive outlook babe.

Okay, I've been secretly reading your blog (and have been very faithful) since I began my blogging career. I have now found a connection, and am not too shy to comment. Those chickens, which you went to visit, are my husband's cousins.

P.S. I also love Mean Girls. Did I say that out loud? I sure did.

Welcome, Shar. Nice to meet you! Please keep checking for when I'll be back.

Mean Girls is awesome. Lohan has the potential to be a really good actress, she has raw talent. I just wish she'd stop sniffing all that talent up her nose.

Let's drive up there and be all, "Hey, we can to see Linds."
