is this really my 200th post?

Folks, I will get to the rest of my birthday. I will. But here's what I did this morning: I took the kids to school, and then, instead of coming right home, like I usually do, I ran some errands. I got home at about the same time Darin got home (he was bringing Curly home from preschool), and when I walked into the house, I heard something.

Is there a faucet on?

No.

Oh, no.

Nonononononononononono.

Noooooo!!!

Toilet. Flood. Soaked carpet in hallway, and in two bedrooms.

Dripping into the family room.

Ceiling probably needs to be replaced, as well as floor.

We've employed all of our towels, as well as our fans, and we are waiting for the insurance adjuster to show up "in fewer than eight business hours".

*sigh*

Oh no! What a nightmare! I'm so sorry!

And you know BBJ? How lucky are you! :) Of course, I guess one can't feel luck now enough when the house gets flooded -I hope the damage isn't too extensive!

Yuck. Nasty. Yuck. We have gone through this ourselves too many times. Thanks you 1930's house with old corroded pipes and bad plumbing system anyway. I hate that feeling. . .wait. . .I PRAY I left the faucet running, but what's that smell?? NONONONONONONO.

Just think happy thoughts of your birthday!

NO. BAD TOILET.

That's awful... how does that happen? It spontaneously decides to regurgitate? Hoping the insurance folks are good people... not raving lunatics.

Hey, look on the bright side. Um... you'll get new flooring? I don't know. My mom's washing machine flooded and she got new carpet in the living room and hallway and a new wood floor in the kitchen. Except I think she tiled it instead.

Wow. We've had the toilet overflow upstairs and fill up our kitchen light on the ceiling below it. I can't even imagine the chaos in your home right now. That blows. Hang in there!

:( ... I own a carpet cleaner if you need one to at least try and suck out all the water. You don't have to use the cleaning part, but you can use the sucking part. Hmm .. hopefully since I don't know the parts to call the cleaner that didn't sound as nasty to you as it did to me as I read back over it.

I only have a little fan, but it's yours if you need it. (And good luck with the insurance co.)

Once, my upstairs neighbor flooded my entire house minutes before I was to host a baby shower..... and then we did it ourselves a few months later. We are practically on a first name basis w/ the clean up guys.

Yesterday, Cubby stopped up the toilet in my MIL's downstairs...luckily it is hardwood floors, but still. It took 11 towels to clean it up.....

I feel your pain and I am SOOOO sorry...
