bloggy-style

This blog thing is, to use the language of my theatre-esque friends, "a-MAZE-ing!!!!" I need to pay tribute to Stephanie (http://graciejbrunswick.blogspot.com/), who inspired me to do this bloggy thang: she is sweet and hip and gorgeous and with it and far out and dy-no-mite. And I miss her, and wish we saw each other more often. And I want to be like her when I grow up.

I began reading others' blogs, thinking I'd get inspired, and instead, I've gotten intimidated. I want to write quirky, entertaining, random things that can inspire others. I used to be a fabulous writer...in high school. Tenth grade English class (Ms. Sally Stauffer, thanks) brought a new concept to me: writing every day. At the beginning of each class, you go in, you sit, you write. Sometimes, there would be something written on the board (idea, catch phrase, question, etc.) to help inspire, incase you didn't know what to start writing about. Initially, I thought this exercise to be a ploy of a teacher who wanted to keep us doing 'busy work' while she furthered her agenda of helping raise funds for the WWF (which, funnily enough, I thought was World Wrestling Federation - how odd, Sally - and turns out to be World Wildlife Federation...maybe...something of that flavor...). I look back now and wish someone would 'make' me sit down and write for ten, fifteen, twenty minutes a day.

I had (and have) a journal - long before Oprah "invented" the technique of journaling - but it's never up-to-date. I think that when I was writing in 10th-grade English class each day, the latest entries in my journal at home detailed 3rd grade ski club trips and my crush on Charles Hampton. I don't know if my current journal knows that I'm married. I feel so much pressure to hurryandcatchup! when I take time to write in my journal at home. Writing on this blog is so calming and refreshing to me. And, it's teaching me a lesson about what's important to me. I'm working on being inspired, rather than intimidated. This blogging thing is helping. No pressure. Random is fine. Know what else helps me? Comments.

NY is sticky. Darin will be here on Friday (not soon enough!). I think he reads my entries...I hope so. Monica is in Madison, Wisconsin. I shall tell her you asked about her, and invite her to join us. Did you know she had her baby?

NO i had no idea! What did they have, what did they name him/her? does he/she have red hair?

Girl - Eliza - black hair. I'll let her brag about the details when she blogs. :) but i'll brag that we were in wisconsin when she was born.

(in that last comment, "her" refers to Monica, not Eliza.)

Hey guys. I just felt like I was listening in on a phone call about me.
hi stephanie, long time no... you name it, and it's been a long time. I don't know if I will join you world yet. to be honest I'm quite fightened/intimidated by it. not to mention there is no spell-check and I am bound to spell something wrong, there are just to many options in spelling (opcians, opshuns, auptions, aupshuns... see what I mean)

send me a picture online sometime! Miss you
PS have you seen my red head? she is a cutie, just like ALL red heads are.

Charles Hampton...he he he! Mine was Mike Ireland...think they'll ever read this? I was totally in love with him from about 7th grade through graduation! I got over that quick enough once I got out of school. =)

Yeah, Charles was only in 4th grade. And, no, I don't think they'll read this. What made you stop liking Michael? Was it when he was on Singled Out on MTV?

jenny,
did you read my picture comments? my brother replied...check it out

Yeah, Singled Out didn't help. He seemed so cocky. Odd that I still remember it...I think it was more about finding a boyfriend pretty quickly when I got to college - that helped end the crush!

Melissa - yeah, Jenny McCarthy was hanging on him...his fifteen minutes, i guess.

Stephanie - YAY! This is fun. I'll totally try an oreo shake...maybe...

Monica - we're waiting...

Stephanie, I have seen your red head, and quite frankly, I am jealous. As a kid I dreaded the day when the doctor held up a red-head and said he/she was mine, but now...
But Eliza is beautiful and her hair (when wet) is REALLY curly so at least we passed on something good.
What is your email address and I'll send you pictures. How is Courtney? is she still working at Sunsetview? And where are you these days?

Jenny- Are you waiting for a blog? I'm still scared.

yes, i am...are you a chicken? i hope you're not a chicken. chicken.

Monica, I love that you are paranoid about your red. Red is the new blond. Also, that you misspelled your last name (ON PURPOSE.)
