What I Wanted To Say To Jason Alexander

"Thanks for being here, and for being so generous with your time. I know this great therapist who uses one of your clips from Seinfeld to help his clients - the one where George approaches the woman in the diner and says, "I'm George. I'm unemployed and live with my parents." He probably uses more clips, he really loves Seinfeld, and I do, too, but I know you've done, and do, so much more. I'd like to hear about your most favorite moment on Broadway.

The master class demonstration you did tonight on stage with that student? It brought me to tears. I told my husband about it, that the entire process touched me on a level I . . . I couldn't place, or name, but was familiar and terrifying and made me want to be brave. Thank you."

What actually happened:

Jason Alexander: Hello!

Me: I love you. I just love you so much.

Jason Alexander: Uh, okay.

Pose for photo

Jason Alexander: Wow, I've never had my picture taken with an iPad before.

Me: Me neither.

Picture is taken

Jason Alexander: Okay!

Me: Okay. Thank you, so much.

Wow! That is so cool you got to meet him, even if what you said didn't come out they way you would have liked :) What event/conference did you attend?

Still extremely exciting! I'd love to meet J.A.!

I know when I met Neil Gaiman I was trembling and could barely talk. I forced him to take a mix CD I made for him. haha!! What a dork. :)

I do this too!

I always sound better in my head than in reality. What a cool picture to have though!

They could do a Seinfeld episode with that conversation! Wow, though, you got to meet him! Do tell the details of when & how!

You DO look gorgeous in that picture. And now he knows you love him! So...there's that.

But I'm like the others - I want the deets!

(and I just think it was incredibly brave of you to have a picture with him. I would have been hiding behind a plant, watching his every move.)

Thanks, everyone! He was a guest at UVU, teaching master classes to the kids in the drama department. He was there for three days, and what I attended was a free event, open to the public.

Also, to clarify: I think I may have said these things to his face, had I had the opportunity. Those of us waiting in (a very, VERY long) line to get his autograph and/or a picture with him were sternly asked (warned?) to not waste time with personal anecdotes, or quoting Seinfeld. As much as I wanted to say those couple of things to him, I was not about to align myself with the insufferable students slyly asking Mr. Alexander if he has hand.

Very funny! I would have wanted to pat him on the head.
