Girlie Glue - GIVEAWAY

I'm excited to tell you about a new product. It's called Girlie Glue.

Creator Katie Hydrick tells how she came up for the idea:

I had two darling baby girls that didn't have much hair.  I liked to dress them in all colors, but if they weren't wearing pink they would get mistaken for boys.  I loved the simple little bow in their hair to make them look feminine.  I wasn't crazy about the uncomfortable headbands that left a mark on their poor heads.  So I tried to stick them on with what others suggested: honey, ky jelly, karo syrup, elmers glue... but they involved drying time, mess, they kept falling off, and babies aren't even supposed to have honey!  Anyway, I created my own all natural glue in my kitchen that was much thicker, requires no drying time, and literally holds all day.  I didn't invent it to start a business, I just wanted it for my own use.  I began getting questioned EVERY time I went somewhere.  I realized that everyone else was having the same question: "how can you get a bow to stick on your baby's head?"  and I had the answer.  Since there was nothing else out there like it- I decided I would figure out how to package and sell it.

I can relate to so much of what Katie talks about with little girls. When my girls were babies I would put tiny bows on their heads, but, like Katie's experience, the bows would slip off and make a greasy-looking spot on their hair.

But that was years ago. Why would I be excited about Girlie Glue now that my girls are older?

Because of the other uses for Girlie Glue.

For instance, take my 4-year-old. Her sisters wear earrings, and while 4YO is terrified of 'pokey earrings' she still wishes she could wear them, 'because they're so pretty.' She will likely get her ears pierced when she's older, but for now, she's in luck.

try to ignore the fact that I didn't brush her hair

In addition to holding hair bows, Girlie Glue holds 'earrings' (actually small shapes cut from felt), and I'm serious when I say they HOLD ALL DAY.

Ugh: LESSON LEARNED: brush her hair. But look at the cute earrings!

She was thrilled when I showed her how they looked in the mirror.

But that's not all. What about this?

Not my kid. This picture is from Girlie Glue's facebook page. Clever, huh?

I like the earrings idea. My daughter is dying for earrings, but I'm not ready to get her ears pierced yet. Bingo!

How do you get a bow to stick on a baby's head? Girlie Glue! Love the stuff. My friend sent it to me for my new baby! Stays on even through naps! I'm a fan!

Just the other day my 5 yo asked me when she could get her ears pierced. I told her when she turns 12. She, of course, was bummed. Boy would she be excited to get to wear earrings and I wouldn't have to worry about her ears getting infected!

I love Girlie Glue. I just started using it a month ago and it works great. After 6 boys, having a little girl is so new to me and I love to have her look very girlie (otherwise she looks very much like her brothers). So I like to put bows in her hair all the time. Girlie glue keeps the bow in all day long. (helpmesave at lots2save dot com)
