Kristen

I feel like I should start this post with, "Once upon a time, there was a Princess," because that's how I feel about my friend Kristen. The word 'amazing' doesn't do justice in describing this woman.

I first met Kristen years ago. We lived in the same neighborhood and got to work together with the teenaged girls at church. (She is just one from a group of women whom I revere: we all worked together amongst the girls at church, and we all got along with each other very, very well. I often find myself longing for those days of camaraderie; I'm grateful for the times I get to spend time with these women.) Kristen has a sense of style and grace unmatched, paired with a warm and beautiful countenance. She is a lover and creator of things beautiful.

For years, Kristen longed to have children. She was genuinely happy for her friends who had kids while aching for her own. I remember the day she told me her news: twins. She went into labor with them 6 weeks early, during the very weekend she and her family were scheduled to move across town. Her son and daughter arrived healthy and beautiful, and Kristen became the champ of a mom she remains today.

Right before the twins turned 2 (or is it 3? and does it matter? they were young), Kristen gave birth to another son. Three littles to love and adore.

Last year she told me that she's been wanting to have more kids, but that it just didn't seem to be in the cards for her, and so she was learning to be at peace with that.

And then earlier this year she let me know that she was, once again, pregnant.

Today, she's giving birth.

To triplets.

Love you, Kristen! You are wonderful! Best wishes and lots of love!
