drawn to timp

Lately I'm really preoccupied with Mount Timpanogos. Not obsessed, but certainly interested. There's a legend, something about a girl waiting for her lover, a soldier, to climb up to the top of the mountain to marry her or something, and when she learned that he was killed she decided to lay down and die on top of the mountain. Her silhouette is visible from certain points in the valley, along the top ridge of the mountain.

Still, I can't help but be drawn to the mountain for some reason.

Why?

Am I supposed to climb it?

Heaven help me . . .

Like climbing the whole thing? Hiking up to the cave was about as much as I could handle. Of course, it was in high school and my boyfriend made fun of me for going too slow, running circles around me until I threatened to push him off the trail.

So, I went to Provo High all four years, and lived in Utah County for about 10, and have never hiked Timp. I like the idea of nature, but I don't like actual nature. Which is why it is my mission to destroy the earth.

Can you visualize the woman yet?

I'll hike it with you. In the fall. When it's cool.

Oldest and his friends were supposed to go the other day. He got up at 4 am to go, Hoss had a horrible feeling about it and told him he didn't want him to go. He stayed home. His friends said there was still snow up there. One of them fell 30 feet--he's ok, but scary.

You must be in Heber to see the REAL
Indian princess. (This side of Timp looks entirely different from the Provo side) Natives from this side of the mtn. think it is the prettiest. Come sit on my porch and I'll show you.

I have "climb a mountain" on my bucket list, but then I'd like to be air-lifted down.

It's lovely. I hope to be hiking it tomorrow.
