i danced through, like, the whole thing

Last Wednesday I found myself faced with a conundrum: Should I go to the Fleetwood Mac concert? As you may recall, in March of this year I flew to NY and stayed with my cousin for a few days, and we went to see this fine band. At the time I purchased the tickets for the NY show, Salt Lake wasn’t on the tour schedule – not that it matters, because getting to visit with Caitlin was awesome, and I wouldn’t change that.

Last fall, Lindsey Buckingham came to Salt Lake as part of his solo tour. I wanted to go, but I didn’t want to go by myself. I asked a few people if they’d like to join me, but no one could (or wanted to) go. So I didn’t go.

And I regret it.

I did ask friends if they wanted to come along to last Wednesday’s show, but, again, it just didn’t work out.

Should I go by myself? Not go at all? I didn’t want to feel like I had missed out, the way I felt last fall.

So I made an executive decision.

We took the trax and bought our tickets. I don’t know that we could have gotten better seats.

We shared pretzel bites w/ cheez and some water and waited for the show to start. Shortly after 8:pm, we heard the sound effect of crickets, and then…

Here’s the playlist, interspersed with fun anecdotes as delivered by band members:

Monday Morning
The Chain

-Stevie says we should get this party started

-the first single from the Tango In The Night album was…
Big Love

-this next song is dedicated to Stevie’s bff from when she lived in Salt Lake when she was 13 years old, Carolyn…
Landslide

Never Going Back Again

-at the beginning of this tour they decided to perform a song they never had before…
Storms
Say You Love Me
Gold Dust Woman
Bathroom Break Song
Don’t Know This One Either
Stand Back

Go Your Own Way

Encore 1:

World Turning (with drum solo in the middle)

Li’l ~j.’s favorite part:

The only thing that makes me feel better about not being able to go is knowing the two of you had such a great time together. And oh--love that photo of the two of you.

Oh and I love hippie love, too.

That's all.

So fun...Wish I could have been at the show. You and your beautiful daughter look like the night was a huge success and a very exciting memory for the 2 of you. I remember the concerts my parents took me too when I was young. Beautiful!!!

I love that you took Li'l ~j with you. It looks like a moment that she will never forget.

My hubby and I went to a FM show a few years ago and had a GREAT time. They put on a good show. I wish that Christine McVie would tour with them.

Thanks for posting the pics!

How sweet. What a fun little mommy-daughter date. I bet she'll remember that forever.

I can't wait until my kid can not poop in his pants and carry on a conversation that doesn't involve Mickey Mouse and that we can go do something fun like that.

I love it! I want a copy of your pic, and wonder if she was the youngest one there? Do you remember the MJ concert in Buffalo? I don't think you were as old & our seats weren't as good, but it was fun. Love you
