we love you, too

This is our Christmas Wall. It's one of my favorites of our traditions, taping the cards, photos, and letters to the wall. People who see the wall say, "Woah, that's a lot of cards." Yes, thank you. I send out close to 150 each year, so I'm glad we get a lot.

This photo was taken with my phone. That's why it's the quality that it is. I tried to respond to cw's challenge by taking photos with my phone, and to crappy avail. Luckily, my in-laws helped us take the leap into the new millenium by giving us a digital camera for Christmas! Now if I can figure out how to use it, and if the Griswolds here and Griswolds there have their lights still up, I'll attempt to belatedly participate in the mine-are-crazier-than-yours game. Until then, this photo will have to do to show some of my happy holiday blessings.

Whoa! You are so popular!! Where's my card?? I don't see it. J?K Thanks for your card this year. Cute family. Happy 2007!

See the paper with the Christmas tree shape on it (towards the left)? There's a green paper to the right of that paper; your card is directly above that paper.

Happy New Year to you, too!

Isn't it nice to love and be loved back?

Wow! I am inpressed. I guess since I only send out about 40, getting 30 back isn't too bad.

That is a wonderful testiment to the awesomeness of you and your family!

That is so cool. Might I ask what you tape them up with?

I have used masking tape and when I'm really bored I just kind of sit there on the sofa and watch the race between the cards and the poinsettia leaves dropping intermittently.

It's sort of like tennis, only different.

Cute! We do the same sort of thing but put it on our front door (facing inside the house :), and the closet door right next to it. I'll have to take a picture before I get them all down. I send out a little over a hundred, but hey, you and I are no where near my mom. . .crazy lady personally knows people well enough to send out over 500 cards. . .I'm not kidding, it's a good thing her husband owns a newspaper company that also does all kinds of outside printing (like their christmas cards. . .)

The pictures on my wall at Christmastime of people I love is one of my favorite traditions, too. I just got done taking them down about an hour ago and now I wish I had taken a picture.

I love you too and when my still half-finished "Christmas letter" is all done you will be able to give it a wall to itself, because I feel pretty sure you'll have your holiday things in storage by then. Call it a Valentine? This year we're really on Buchert Standard Time.

Anyway, I love your wall of love.

What a great idea. I never know what to do with all the cards and letters I get ... some just don't stand up on their own. So they sit in a pile ... and... it was fun to find where our card stuff was.

That is so strange. It wasn't until I looked at this post that I remembered the fact that we once tried the Christmas Card wall. I liked it; don't know why we never did it again.

ps It's a great way to display and keep lil fingers from gettin to them.

b - yes, and thank you.

sue - that is an incredibly impressive percentage.

cw - I use scotch tape and, for the heavy cards, packing tape (same that I use to keep almost-3-year-olds from taking off their diapers). They always fall. I just tape them up again. I bet if I washed my wall beforehand, that would help. Your tennis comment had me laughing.

wendy - 500?! yikes...I even shortened my own list this year... Does your mom hold some sort of political office?

emily - next year take a photo. I'd love to see it.

geo - can't wait to get it. Valentines (ballamtimes, as my seester calls them) are lovely.

queen - I also own a card display holder thingey, but I don't like it as much as I like doing this.

lyle - unfortunately, little fingers did get to these, but not too terribly often; they like the tradition, too.

Too bad I'm not up there (well, I haven't sent any out so that might be the reason).

WOW. I send out maybe 12. I'm such a loser.
