a fellow friend to the wiggles

Crikey.

I said to my laurel class just last week, "Is that Crocodile Hunter guy still around?"

oh so you heard the news? have you heard anything about all the fun stuff going on in our hometown? check it out. it's been on cnn and msnbc. or just go to those websites and look up "trooper dies after shooting in 'bucky' hunt" or something like that.

I could not believe the news when I found out this morning...I almost blogged about it. Glad I didn't. That would be like both of us showing up at at party wearing the same outfit.

What are the odds of getting poked in the heart by a sting ray? I always thougth that if something bad happened to him, it would have been with a croc.

If you decide your job is to run into traffic every single day, we should not be surprised when you are hit by a car.

Irwin kind of reminded me of Tim Treadwell...

The only thing that surprised me was that it was a stingray, not a croc, that got him. Freaky. I feel sick for his wife and kids, though. He was way too young.

Reminds me of the Grizzley man. He hung out with Grizzley bears during the summers and guess what happened to him? Yup, he was swallowed by a bear.

What do you think God says to these guys when they arrive in heaven?

I think there were some stark differences between Steve Irwin & Timothy Treadwell.

All the reports I hear say that Irwin, as brilliant and fantastic as he was at his profession, was a hundred times more a devoted, kind, and loving husband and father.

Treadwell scooped up and fondled and inhaled fresh bear poop. And wanted to be a bear. And was

out

of

his

mind.

Point well taken.

I really feel badly for his wife and kids.

I feel badly for his his family too (especially because I have deep childhood issues about losing at father who's only 44).

But I also need to say this: What a way to go! I am slowly coming to believe it's better to live a short life doing what you love than a long life never having truly lived.

that was a great comment, compulsive. i wrote it down. good way to look at things. but i still feel bad for his family.

Steve Irwin was an awesome awesome man. I'm a huge fan of his. My thoughts are with his family- Terri, Bindi and Bob.

This news really made me stop. Most of the time you hear about celebrities and the like and it rolls off of me... Irwin made me feel connected somehow...to him and the world I'd never step foot in. His enthusiasm made me likewise. Glad to see a good man in entertainment who was as real - if not bigger in real life.
